Rare Find Lowland 10 Tasting Notes
Official tasting notes
Nose: Treacle, dark chocolate, cherry.
Palate: Rich toffee, liquorice, raisins.
Finish: Warm and sweet with candied ginger.
Ed's review
Colour: Natural colour, deep copper, oily in glass.
Nose: Rich berries macerated in syrup. Cedarwood and cinnamon.
Palate: Medium mouthful. Bursting with autumnal fruit: plums, apples, redcurrants and blackberries. Fruit and nut chocolate, with a touch of tobacco leaf. Given the epic ABV, the alcohol is surprisingly well integrated; there's a bit of a kick, but a kick I really enjoy.
Finish: Bright warming spice with red berries and apples.
Overall: Delicious, extremely flavoursome - the humble name “Lowland 10” underplays its qualities.
